Tosheff Piano Duo was the first piano-duo team officially
admitted in a higher music institution in the United States. Since
2002 they have been studying with the world-renowned pianist John
Perry at the University of Southern California
(USC) in Los Angeles. USC Thornton School of Music was
the only U.S. institution that created a graduate program of study
specially designed for this duo.
Hannover, Germany
Tosheff Duo were one of the first teams admitted in the newly designed
in 1999, Soloklasse in Piano Duo program at the Hochschule
für Musik in Hannover, which is one of the finest
piano schools in Europe. The Soloklasse program is the
highest level of graduate studies available in Germany. Twice recipients
of a German Government Scholarship from the DAAD, Tosheff
worked with the world-renowned pedagogue Bernd Goetzke,
who was one of the last pupils of the great Italian pianist
Arturo B. Michelangeli.
Monte Carlo, Monaco
One of their most notable collaborations was their work with
the inspiring Madame Janine Reding of the famous
Reding-Piette Piano Duo in Monaco. These studies were generously
supported by the French Ministry of Culture.
Sofia, Bulgaria
Tosheff Piano Duo hold their Bachelor's degree from The
State Academy of Music in Sofia, where they studied as
Open Society Scholars with Stella Dimitrova-Maistorova,
Teodora Nestorova, and chamber music with Jenny
Zacharieva and Dimitar Kozev.
Master Classes
The duo has also taken master classes with Sachiko Kodama and Yuko
Yamaoka (Japan), Sekeira Costa, Lucinda Carver
and Ray Luck (USA), Kevin Fitz-Gerald and Bruce
Vogt (Canada), Paul Komen (Holland),
Oleg Koshelev and Tammara Poddubnaya (Russia),
Victor Chouchkov (Bulgaria), Marielena Fernandez
(Austria), Zvi Meniker and Karsten Eckert (Germany).
